Since our previous days were spent enjoying the natural wonders and cultural heritage of Jeju, we alloted our remaining days in Seoul by enjoying their theme park. Our destination: Everland. It's South Korea's largest theme park.

Four Seasons at Everland

Everland is located in the nearby area of Gyeonggi-do Yongin-si Cheoin-gu. It's an hour travel from Seoul. The usual rate is w40,000, but they have an ongoing promo for foreigners. Discounted rate costs w33,000.

South Korea's theme park may not be as awesome as Disneyland or Universal Studio, but the Koreans themselves make this place outstanding. Since the Koreans are kinda cheesy and expressive, I really felt a deep appreciation for every attraction and parade this theme park presents. It's really nice to see them them enjoying the place like it's their first time to go there (and I really bet it's not.) Another thing nice seeing is that people go here with their families. I can really tell that everyone pauses on their busy life just to make time for their loved ones.

 
Four Seasons Garden

This area is simply the most beautiful among all the attractions inside this theme park. It showcases the beautiful flowers formed into different characters, which depends on the season. This part also holds magic shows and story telling for kids. It's just simply a refreshing sight for everyone who just wishes to relax and spend quality time with family.

 

 

Madagascar Live
This show is completely in Korean language only. There's a little English and Japanese translation in the corner for the foreign visitors' benefit. Despite that, my friends and I had a good time watching the show as well as the delighted kids.

Eating Time
There are lots of restaurants to choose from. Prices are not that bad, considering it's inside this much anticipated theme park. 

Moonlight Magic
This parade happened at 8pm and the temperature dropped to 8 degrees. Oh dear, the coldness of the night is killing us. Anyway, I really liked how Koreans make the best of what they can do. They really look cute and genuinely happy without even trying hard to please the crowd. Oh well, Koreans are very easy to please and they are very cooperative.

Come to think of it, this moonlight parade doesn't look grand and expensive at all but why can't we have it in Pinas. This will surely bring more highlight to our very own theme park in the Philippines. And yes, I secretly wished we also have these kinds of parade and Pinoys can be a little cheesier and be easier to please.

South Korea impresses me big time - not just by having a gigantic airport, a systematized transportation, unpolluted air, rich cultural heritage, and awesome natural wonder. It's the Koreans themselves that make this country outstanding. I felt there's pride on how a simple taxi driver, a ticketing officer, or a traffic enforcer take their respective jobs. They look happy, satisfied, and proud on what they do. It may be annoying that Koreans are eveywhere, but it just shows how they love and appreciate their own country. Yes, a visit to South Korea is a little expensive but I didn't regret having a vacation here specially when the Koreans made us felt welcome and respected.


And of course, how can we leave South Korea without dancing the Gangnam craze?
