Since I bought Harvey, I never really had the time to explore and actually use it. So for this trip, everything's a first! Goodluck sakin...
My parents were invited to attend a town fiesta near Aklan. Since my father can't make it, I tagged along with my mom. How I love free tickets! Ü

And since we're already there, I asked my mom if she wanted to go to Boracay, she immediately agreed. Last October was supposedly our family's trip to Boracay (for my mom's bday), too bad we were badly hit by Ondoy and my father decided not to pursue the trip.
The day after the fiesta, we visited Boracay and did my first ever photowalk. Aside from the fact that it's my first time to use Harvey, the weather is not cooperating too. Dark clouds and scattered rain showers reigned the skies. Oh well.. it's still Boracay anyway.
Ang hirap. I really wished si Vincent (my Ixus) ang gamit ko para kabisado ko ang settings. Here goes my first shots with Harvey...

Hohumm, im not really satisfied with my shots. At ang hirap pag cloudy ang sky. Any tips?
After strolling, it's time for lunch. We chose to eat at Big Mouth.
Sizzling Pockchop and Mango Banana shake, yummy!
Salpicao dish, satisfying!
my hungry but happy mom ♥
All experts were once beginners, right? (defensive mode)
Di bale may next time and I promise to do better with my shots. Ü
Oohh, seems I can check another item in my To-Do-List. I have travelled with my mother and Im glad she enjoyed our Boracay day tour. I just hope di siya mawili else baka sumama siya sa lahat ng travels ko. *winks*

Tips naman jan!
hey! shots are not that bad naman... mahirap lang talaga ipalabas na maganda ung weather if its actually not. wag pilitin at dayain di ba? hahaha!
tips: "more practice and more photowalks with Harvey.. and with us (Celine)" :D

i like the pictures! di halatang bago lang si harvey.
at naaliw ako sa buoys. favorite ko yung mga yan. never been to bora miselff but i heard that you have to go there at least once in your life.
congratz to your mom. hindi naman panget ang shots mo. :)
hope to be in bora at least once. I bet my little girl will enjoy the sand and the waves. :)
Hi,
Just a quick question, were there people surfing in Boracay when you were there? :) I haven't seen people do that and I'm into surfing (and is in love with Boracay). So surfing there would really be cool (because of the abscence of sharp corals).
P.S. Shots are really good for a beginner. The white balance is right for a cloudy weather. I think it's best to take macro shots during this weather (but that may be just me and I'm no pro. :P)
Thanks! :)
Kristel
I also have the ixus & slr setup once but now a nikon user. i still prefer my ixus over my waterproof Olympus (a gift from a friend)...practice lang ang pagkuha ng pictures and don't be afraid to make mistakes...
not much tao pa sa bora...btw, I will link you up ;P
Tingin ko nga mas kabisado mo na gamitin ang mga settings ni Vincent. Pero hindi naman pangit ang mga pictures mo rito Chyng. Bakit ikaw hindi tinamaan ni Harvey? Palaging behind the camera?
Parang gusto ko rin tuloy dalhin si Ermats sa Bora, based on the picture you mom looks like she had fun with the trip...
Your shots here are not bad after all...
Namamatay na ko sa inggit. Meron Camera show sa glorrieta Next week. This is it...ahahahaha
Ayos naman yung pics. Gusto ko yung picture ng pagkain. As usual. Gutom nanaman ako.. hehehe

Actually Ate, the shots are nice naman. Hindi naman kasi ako photographer kaya hindi ko alam kung may flaw ang isang pic o wala. Pero my eyes are not sinungaling naman, the shots are good. :) Harvey is not failing you. Hehe.
I have been busy with my thesis these past few weeks that I failed to visit your blog every now and then. Btw, watch out for my new entry tomorrow. For sure, it will be a “love-me-or-hate-me” post. Want a clue? Ok… Noynoy.

chyng ganda ng kuha mo ha.. propesyonal ang dating lalo na yung may bilog na background!
Great captures, hindi halatang naninibago ka sa bagong camera mo. Pro na pro ang dating.
Love all your shots and the subjects too.
nice shots!
thx din sa paglink!
Maganda nmn shots mo Chyng, no worries! ;) Sweet nmn sinama mo mum mo sa bora. Not a beach person though but I still hope to visit Bora one of these days! ;)
usisero yang si harvey mo lahat nakikita
' wheeww.. with the scenery and the people, harvey had his task cut out for him.. considerin' first time mo to use it, i think you did great.. just be careful with the scaling of your pics though.. =)
' SCALING - calculating or determining the size of your photo. there's the technical where you would use software but there's of course the conventional. yun bang kukunan mo pa lang e alam mo na kung anu details ng subject at nasa photo at ganu kalaki o kaliit to. of course, scale is different from focus. am i makin' sense? sensya, im no pro.. ehe
Hi, Chyng! Gusto ko din mag-Bora! Sana sa summer makapag-Bora ako.
Btw, you might want to comment on my blog post about Century Tuna Superbods Run. Entry ko yun para makasali at makakuha ng race kit. Your comment is equal to a vote, so please support me.

Salamat nang marami!
Even if it was cloudy, it's actually still a good day for photos kasi hindi harsh yung light and the colors do come out. Don't use your auto mode, learn more by using the aperture priority or shutter priority. I'm sure Harvey will make you happy!
tinotoo mo talaga ang pagpunta sa boracay..
nice shots chyng! di pa ko nakakapunta ng bora. pero trip ko puntahan ang carabao island, heard of it? parang ang ganda kasi.
by the way hawig mo mama mo.
wow... DSLR... big time hehe... nice shot you have there.. ano gamit mong camera?
D60?
Anyhow.. yeah... all of us are experts are begginers... even the geniuses are where once stupid!
hehehe...

naka-auto mode kaba when you took the shots?
^ nagmarunong nga ako, manual focus pa yan. hihi
your shots are great to me chyng! promise! di halatang beginner! :)
it has been ages since i have been to boracay. i really have no intention of going back, unless it's for free. :)
gusto ko din makapunta sa bora!
