My mama said I had a package from Bohol. At sino pa bang ang contact ko sa Bohol kundi si RJ. I chose RJ to be our tour guide last march for our visit to lovely Bohol. And from then, I've been recommending him to my friends, acquaintances, bloggers, mga ka-PEX, ka-FN, etc.

Acdg to him, mas dumami nga daw ang clients nya since then. So he is very thankful to me. Kakatuwa naman na effective pala pang-promote ang blog ko. Kaya he sent me some of my favorites...

Words Unexposed

Since paiba-iba ang locations ng Sundates namen this month, nagkaroon kame ng chance maka-attend ng mass sa iba't-ibang simbahan din na within the area. We're lucky dahil naaabutan namen ang magagandang homily which I think became very significant dahil na din sa mga nangyayare the following days. Let me share.

Sa mga kagaya kong naiinis na sa laging infected na cellphone, thumbdrive, at ipod: Here's my latest discovery.

USB Disk Security

Information. USB Disk Security provides 100% protection against any threat via USB drive. (wow ha, very brave thing to claim yan.) Majority of other products cant even guarantee a 90% protection.

USB Shield. Monitors in real time (eto pinakamahalaga, dapat proactive na di na dapat magclick ang user ng scan para madetect na may risky files around) and protects your computer against all threats over your USB dive.

USB Scan. Examines your USB drive thoroughly. (palagay ko eto yung mga back up files ng virus na magti-trigger once inopen ang folders sa USB drives. iba pa yung main virus na usually .exe or .inf na automatically gagana upon pagplug sa USB drive.)

Memory Shield. Monitors potentially unsafe actions, and closes the window of vulnerability left open by other products' reactive signature-based respones. (very nice, nai-consider pa nila to)

Okay, enough of the pasikat at mabibigat na claims ng product na to. Let's see kung totoo nga ang 100% protection.

I'll plug Andrew (my cellphone na may pabalik-balik na KRAG virus), Enrico's super infected thumbdrive, and after that my father's super infected na Ipod naman.

History: I already scanned the thumbdrive and ipod using AVG, AVIRA, AVAST, Spybot, and McAfee - lahat walang detection.

Note: I say it's really infected dahil 70% of the files nacocorrupt, hidden files cannot be showed at USBdrive cant be remove safely. Pero pag tinype mo sa CMD prompt ang dir /ah, makikita naman ang file ng virus pero di mabubura.

ANDREW. Upon plug-in, automatic na nag-open si USB Disk Security. Na-blocked at nahuli at nadelete ang 3 annoying viruses na to.

THUMDRIVE. Upon plug-in, automatic na nag-open si USB Disk Security. Walang autoplay for the thumbdrive. Good, pero walang detection sa USB Shield.

Weh, I doubt. So punta ko sa next tab- ang USB Scan. After 5 antivirus softwares, sa wakas...

finally may detection ng virus!

Yes, na-delete din. Im amazed. Pero may Ipod pa.

IPOD. Same thing. Walang autplay na naganap, nahuli ang virus.

Next, open the folders sa Ipod mismo. And Im surprised na meron pa din detections nung inopen ko ang folder na yun. Under memory shield naman.

and now Im impressed!

Now I can plug the my cellphone, the thumbdrive and Ipod to any PC and I dont have to worry. This product is amazing. Highly recommended!

Btw, USB Disk Security is NOT FREE. Para-paraan nalang para makakuha ng full version! *winks*

College friends day out.

Rare that I catch up with my friends due to my abnormal na sked. Lagi akong pass sa mga lakad dahil tulog ako pag sabado. Kaya nung US Independence Day (long weekend kame), I organized our monthly chikahan. Most of the time ayoko na sa mga malls. Something new naman. I picked this place where we can eat/stay long/ and make chikahan.

Obviously it's by Manila Bay. A restaurant inside Manila Ocean Park. So is this where the fishes go when they die??? Jukies!

Ozeano serves buffet and it is catered by Tamayo's. Oh yeah, buffet ulet. But not as expensive and fabulous as HEAT's or other buffets at hotels. Think of Dad's/Saisaki - yan siguro ang ka-level. Mas tame lang ang crowd sa Ozeano at mas OK ang ambience. Another good thing is that you dont have to pay the entrance fee of MOP if you just want to eat here. Concern ko kasi yan. When we're in OceanPark in HK, there's no way you can eat inside Bayview (one of the finest restos there) kung di ka mag-aavail ng theme park entrance. So mas accessible ang Ozeano ng MOP.

Ah, walang tripod. Di tuloy ako kasama sa picture. Weird thing is I even asked someone to take a photo of me. Nakakapanibago na walang nagcacapture ng bawat galaw ko. Wala siya. *winks*

But still, we had a great time. We stayed for 3.5 hours so I think nasulet naman. We're so busog. I recommend this nice place with good ambience for the sulit price of P595 net.

Tip: Avail the first or last batch in this buffet, mas matagal ang alloted time. Also, DO NOT THROW the receipt. You can watch the Mermaid Show for free if you eat at Ozeano. Too bad di namen inabutan yung last show, na-late kame. Na-excite pa naman ako kasi im a fan of aquatic gymnastics. Chos!

Alright, now we're the 2nd country in South Asia with the most number of cases. Kung ang mga public schools nga nagkakaroon ng positive cases, what more ang isang building na hobby lang magkaron ng visitors from around the world. Di na ko nagulat. But of course, secret nalang kung meron ngang magpositive. Imposible magclose ang company for a week just for that. Luge ang business.

Handy solutions are:

But of course, if you have kids at home, kulang ang preventive measures na yan. OK lang sana kung ikaw ang mahawa pero kung maiuwe mo pa ang virus sa bahay nyo, risky!

So ang proposal: Work From Home

Wow, this will be my first time na magwork home based. Kaya ko ba to? Will I be effective and productive to work alone (as in wala ka ng ofcmates around). Wala kang seatmate na pwede mong harutin pag bored kna? Pano na ang mga free icecream sa pantry? (joke!) San ko isesetup ang workstation ko? I need a place na malamig at tahimik (para sa conference calls). I dont think I can work pag may nakikita kong kama. Baka makatulog ako at paggising ko umaga na- ayos, wala na kong trabaho!

Pero on the other hand, this is tipid ha.

* travel time - i spend a total of 2 hours/day para sa byahe
* pamasahe - wow, may instant savings na 400/week
* bag, sandals, umbrella - i dont need to buy these from time to time
* food - walang pinakamatipid na kain kundi sa bahay

The company will provide the PC (bring home from the office), DSL connection, and landline. MERALCO bill nalang ang gastos. So OK di ba, sounds great. Safe na sa virus, tipid pa.
