Happiness

I heard this from a homily.

Filipinos are the second happiest and most optimistic people in Asia, having a positive outlook on life in general, a joint study by Axa Asia Life and research company Taylor Nelson Sofres showed.

On the other hand, Filipinos rank 78th among 167 nationalities rated as the happiest in the world, according to a new survey published Friday that measures health, wealth, education, sense of identity and the aestheticquality of the landscape. (Haha, we shouldnt be that happy at all!)

There may be three kinds of lies:
1. Lies
2. Damn Lies
3. Statistics
But still I believe in the above statements.

We may be Not So Happy, So So Happy, Plain Happy, or Extremely Happy- but all of these fall under the caterogy happy instead of the other choice unhappy.

Filipinos are the happiest among Asians, and one among the happiest people in the world despite the many problems they have to face everyday. Huh?

Do you know the secret behind this?
I know why!

Because there is a MEANING.
And meaning is rooted in our RELATIONSHIPS.
Relationship with God, with family, with a partner, friends, etc...

We have lots of those, so di tayo mauubusan ng reasons to live! This explains siguro why we are a happy nation- despite and inspite of.

Ikaw, are you happy? (--,)

Hmmmm... Happiness or Kaligayahan?

How do you know if you are happy? No one can tell if you are happy or not, the only person that can tell, if we are happy is us alone. You may see a man with a serious face but he'll tell you that he's happy.

So want to know if I'm happy...

From my post:I believe.....

"I believe that the only thing that makes us miserable is our own perception of misery. We are the maker of our own fate and happiness is within reach."

As of now I'm angry/naiinis/happy/bitter!!!

ggrrr....^_*

@ewik,
well, uso lang kasi ang EMO ngayon... and those EMO are not actually miserable. i think. if they are, bakit naghahanap pa sila ng audience / viewers para sa declaration ng sufferings nila? hehe

@bi3L,
point taken. so 78th nga tayo kung ganun ang ranking dba?

natumbok mo Chyng---I think that's the reason----and I realize it now--it's because we dont take ourselves too seriously---that's why we are happy---while the Chinese would commit suicide pag wl na silang pera---tayo----simple ÍT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD'lang katapat nyan......

happy happy! being happy is a choice. if you set yourself to be happy only when you have new car, new house or big money then you'll rarely be happy. but if you set yourself to be happy even with the simple things that you have and see, then you'll be happier.

it's our tradition of close family ties that makes us happy people. marami kasi meron tayong support system kung baga kapag nalulungkot...

very happy ;-)

there's a new japanese drama out called smile and its about a half-jap-pinoy and how he's treated in society. i love how the drama emphasizes that inspite of all the trials and tribulations he undergoes, he still manages to smile. and this is attributed to his filipino heritage.
