Sun City Resort and Casino | Cagayan Valley

After the muddy trek in Palaui, our group decided to pamper ourselves a little. Instead of spending the night in one of the "cheap", rather affordable, accommodations in Sta.Ana, we chose to splurge a little in a luxurious hotel of Sun City. Also known as Cagayan Holiday and Leisure Resort.

Sun City | Cagayan Holiday & Leisure Resort

This is one of the finest resorts in Cagayan. And coming from Palaui island, this hotel is within 5 minutes reach. This is I think the nearest accommodation for those who are going to do a daytour in Palaui. Just perfect for a quick relaxation after the exhausting trek.

front desk in Sun City

Since we're a group of 6, the receptionist advised us to get Sun City's Superior Villa. The rate is P7,500 per night, without breakfast. Quite steep, yes. But we found out later that the villa assigned to us was more than the value we paid for.

Anyway, aside from getting the full payment for 1 night, the receptionist also told us that we need to deposit an additional 50% of the rate- which will of course be refunded upon our checkout. Just a normal procedure.

lounge / waiting area

Right after we paid in full + deposit 50% more, the staff asked us to ride the golf cart. This will take us to our Superior Villa. Nice, but it would be nicer if we're allowed to drive the golf cart on our own. Hehe

2 bedroom and 3 bedroom villas in Sun City

I was surprised to see this very spacious alley. I was even more amazed to see these beautiful villas facade. Imagine, merong ganitong ka-amazing na resort sa Cagayan!

Now take a look at our Superior Villa with 3 Bedrooms.

very spacious dining area and living room

The couch and the dining chairs look new and they were very comfortable. There's a small sink and fridge. There are also some utensils which guests can use.

Now the rooms.

You already knew how sound our sleep was that night. ^_^

master bedroom

This is the biggest in the three bedrooms in this villa. The master bedroom has its own bathroom too.

bathroom complete with toiletries and fresh towels

Anyway, there are 2 bathrooms in this 3-bedroom villa.
Moving on, here are the other rooms:

2nd room with twin beds

3rd room with king sized bed

All rooms have these ultra soft sheets, mattresses, and pillows. Every room has its own TV too.

Lovely villa. All of us agreed that this was worth our P7,500. This rate could only afford 1 room in a hotel in Manila. By the way, we also received a P300-worth of token to be used in Sun City's Casino.

And aside from the Casino, here are some more of the resort amenities.

pool and beach area

Sun City's infinity pool

wooden walkway towards the beach

Bali inspired lounge chairs

I heard they also have spa and some water sports to offer. Maybe we can try those next time.

All in all, we just love the whole place. I appreciate that there's this kind of world class resort in the northern extremity of Luzon. Sun City is perfect for a family weekend getaway.

fresh look after the muddy experience in Palaui

From a muddy trail to chic lodging - what a treat for your tired feet! I even thought it's more expensive than P7,500 - a villa like that will cost a whole lot more elsewhere!

hi, I tried to reserve this summer 2012 but the rates have gone higher and there are very strict with the number already (unliike before). A child of 6 yrs old and above is counted as adult. The room rates are P5,700 (discounted at 5%) good for 4 and 9,650 discounted as well for 6 persons. Every one person added must pay addtional rate by dividing the rate of the room to the number of person (ex. 5,700 divided by 4 = 1,425 / person for 1 person added to a villa which is good for 4). They used to be not strict with the number of people. You have to call for inquiry to make sure of their rates. They actually changed last February 2012. I am not sure if the discount is applied to everyone.
