The Making of an Outreach

Less than a week from now, our group, JGC, will be having our 1st Christmas Outreach. Ngayon palang, I wanna share how much I learned from this experience. It's been priceless for me.

..2 weeks ago, I felt helpless. I learned na iba pala yung WILLING lang sa DEDICATED to make this happen. I got pressured kasi I feel like Im doing it on my own - with a very little effort on my friends' part. I was kinda disappointed. As if naman ginusto ko to mag-isa? As far as I remember, lahat kasi kami nagpledge.. That's how I felt. They cant blame me.. At that point, I said to myself, hindi pala masaya mag-organize.. 0_o

After a while I sought help from some outreach organizers. They made me realized na mali pala yun. I was wrong to expect that everyone can give the same efforts as Im giving. Nawawala na kasi yung sense of VOLUNTEERISM kung maya't maya ako nagro-roll call about their solicitations or any donations. It is supposed to be a fun activity for our group. After all, this is all about VOLUNTEERING, and not WORK. So now, I accepted the fact that everyone has priorities, and I just need to be thankful for whatever help they can share. Happy na ko ulit. And very excited! =)

On the other hand, Im so overwhelmed with the support I received from my friends, specially from the blogosphere and online buddies - mind you, I have never met these people at all. And along this journey, I met a lot of very kind hearted people. This is the best part.

Now let me share you some of the things that we'll give the kids this Sunday..

Actually there's a lot more! Pero secret muna yung iba.
Now, binabawi ko na yung sinabi ko before.. Masaya pala magprepare ng isang outreach! =)

Maraming salamat sa nagsponsor ng kids at nagdonate in any form they can give. Special mention sa couple who I met recently. Grabe, Im so overwhelmed.

-----> Im officially closing our solicitation.

Hope I can join you that day but duty calls. Di bale this won't be the last naman di ba? I won't promise anything basta pag meron uli.

Chyng, this is wonderful. I now know I can give a veritable feast (at Jollibee) to thirty children for 100 USD. I was pleased to see all the care packages you were able to acquire. This is a splendid effort

hooray to your efforts! im impressed as early as the time when you were discussing me about this.

of course part of it comes from the generosity of the people yet a good heart to start something is special.

congratulations!

chyng! super dami na nito! as in!

may i suggest something? hope you don't mind. i think this is more, super more, than enough for your party. you might want to give some goods to other kids who are not part of the orphanage, like some street children, who will likely receive nothing. tutal mukhang super dami ng goods mo. :) just a thought though. :)

PS...nanliit ako bigla sa binigay ko. he he! so many people are king-hearted! God bless you chyng!

k said...

i meant kind-hearted! he he!

God bless you Chyng.
